Rebranding from an arthouse movie channel to a female skewed general entertainment channel on Foxtel and Austar. My first task after commencing with XYZ Networks aka Foxtel, was to design the off-air branding and collateral package for the channel. By far the biggest design project I had under taken in my career at that point and the most technical. The logo was designed in 3DS Max by an external post agency in purple and lilac tones specifically for TV and with little consideration to its application in other media.
To maintain the colour integrity of the logo we managed to accurately capture the colours by working with the logo in Photoshop and applying PMS colours to the colour channels and saving the files as DCS2.0 EPS files. Whilst the logo only able to be supplied in a raster format limited the size that we could make the logo in various merchandising applications, The colour fidelity of the final result made up for that. Whilst I had to learn new skills and apply them on the fly to ensure we met the three-month delivery timeframe it was probably the most technically challenging print project I had undertaken at the time and learnt so much in the process.
This project went on to win Gold at the 2001 Australia New Zealand Promax | BDA awards for best Marketing and Promotional Collateral.
